Hume Lake is east of Fresno, and is totally surrounded by National Park land, which is a Federal Fee Area. Once you cross the Park boundary, all SAREX Attendees (including Instructors, Vendors and Group Members) will need to stop at the Entrance Station. Tell them you are attending SAREX at Hume Lake, and you will get a non-recreation pass, which will get you into the Hume Lake area for free. This pass must be displayed in your vehicle throughout the duration of your visit. If you plan to recreate in the Park before or after SAREX, discuss this with the entrance personnel, as you will likely need an additional pass. If you park your vehicle in a Park area with just a non-recreation pass, you can be fined and ticketed. Details on getting to Hume Lake from your location are available from the Hume Lake website, linked and displayed below for your convenience. Detailed driving instruction are available via Google Maps at the bottom of their page, which may or may not be helpful, depending on your circumstances; be sure to read the notes below on automotive GPS routing oddities! |
